Van Schaick is a private golf course and attire should represent a country club atmosphere. Proper attire must be worn on the golf course at all times by members and their guests. Shorts for men or women are acceptable, though, cut offs, tennis shorts, running and athletic shorts are prohibited. Blue jeans, including "designer jeans" are also prohibited on the golf course. Shirts must be worn at all times while in any public area of Van Schaick Country Club. While on the golf course, appropriately styled collared golf shirts are required. Tee shirts and halter-tops are not permitted. The VSICC pro shop staff is responsible for enforcing our club dress code.

Are there any special events or league schedules I should be aware of?

VSICC offers a full tournament schedule that includes Member-Guest, Two-Man Club Championship, Labor and Memorial Day Tournaments, various scrambles, and the Club Championship. All scheduled tournaments are listed on the Events page. In addition to our full tournament schedule, VSICC offers a Tuesday night men's league, a Wednesday night ladies league, the Thursday Shootout, and Friday Scotch Doubles. You may inquire about any event or league in the pro shop. Each weekend day the pro shop tends to run a casual competitive event that is optional for every member. The pro shop staff will have details on a daily basis.

What kind of practice facilities does VSICC offer?

Van Schaick is committed to providing our members and guests with the finest golfing facilities. Our pro shop staff maintains a driving range with yard markers and target greens as well as a large practice putting green. All practice facilities are complimentary with your membership and are open to all immediate family members.

What is a "monthly minimum" and how does it work?

Like most country clubs, VSICC does have an established minimum dollar value that must be spent on food and drink every month. The Board of Directors has worked very closely with our vendor to assure that these fees are kept at a reasonable level. Currently, each VSICC member must spend at least $40 each month throughout the year in our bar and/or restaurant. In the event you do not reach the $40 minimum, your account will be charged the difference to bring this total to $40. House minimums may be prepaid for the entire year in February. Members that choose to prepay their house fees will not be subject to the monthly minimum requirement.

Is VSICC family friendly?

Van Schaick Island Country Club has numerous family members and features a variety of events that cater to the entire family. VSICC supports an extensive junior golf program that includes summer camps, clinics, and tournaments. Even a single golfer membership includes complimentary use of our practice facilities and large swimming pool by all family members.
